Hi Debbie, and thanks for the question.
Local authorities will dictate where you can and con not ride a Quad Bike, be it on private land or a beach. Quite some time ago, we were isiting a beach in South West Wales, called Pendine – this council allowed vehicles to travel on the beach at a restricted speed, and had an enforcement system in place should you break the rules.
Beaches are clasified as public area’s which by the book, you should not ride on. ut, should you find an area where you can ride, there is no law that states you need to be taxed or insured as it is not classified as a public highway or byway.
Sorry I can not be more precise, but if you are planning to visit a certain beach, it is worth giving the local council a call in advance to see if there are restrictions of use.
Enjoy!
